Deco clarifies Raphinha’s departure from Leeds United and makes a daring assertion about Andrea Radrizzani.

Deco, the agent of former Leeds United forward Raphinha, is adamant he “didn’t push hard” for the Brazilian to leave Elland Road. The Brazilian spent two years with the West Yorkshire outfit, scoring 17 goals and registering 12 assists in 67 outings for the club.

He was a key figure in helping United stay in the Premier League, converting a penalty in their memorable final day win at Brentford. Raphinha moved to Barcelona in the summer of 2022 for a fee believed to be £55million where he signed a five-year deal. It was reported that Premier League sides Chelsea and Arsenal were also interested in signing Raphinha but his heart was set on the Spanish giants.

According to Deco, Todd Boehly’s group made a bid for the 27-year-old that was “even bigger than Barcelona’s.” During negotiations to trade Raphinha, the former Barcelona midfielder reportedly accused former Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani of violating agreements.
