Dean Henderson to start against former club

This has seen previous concerns of being locked in a relegation battle dissipate and instead ambitions are high for next season and beyond.

During the run, Oliver Glasner will have learned which players he can rely on as some previously out of favour players have stepped up.

Speaking in his pre-game press conference ahead of Monday’s visit of Manchester United, Glasner discussed the man who’ll face his former side, Dean Henderson.

“It was difficult for him because when we arrived, just one game before it was the decision that Sam Johnstone was the starting goalkeeper. He took it very professionally.

“He always had our confidence. He does an excellent job for us, big saves.

“He did an outstanding job for us at Liverpool with some great saves.”

Henderson has impressed since being moved into the starting line-up which only happened due to Johnstone’s injury.

Facing his former side, Henderson will be hoping to enjoy a better outing than last time he did.

Earlier this season, Henderson featured in the Carabao Cup third round game against United at Old Trafford.

It was not the homecoming he wouldve wanted as his evening ended after 19 minutes as he picked up an injury.

He made no saves and conceded no goals in an uneventful opening period of the game which Palace went on to lose 3-0.

This injury occured on the 26th of September and was his debut in red and blue. it kept him out until December 16th when he returned to face Man City in a 2-2 draw.

Since then he’s been in and out of the team but lately he’s been more in, and impressive in doing so.
