David Moyes makes comment about Crystal Palace fans ahead of West Ham clash

David Moyes has now made a comment about Crystal Palace fans as West Ham prepare to visit Selhurst Park on Sunday.

Oliver Glasner will be hoping to record successive wins for the first time since replacing Roy Hodgson in SE25, following last Sunday’s fantastic 1-0 win against Liverpool at Anfield.

However, this is sure to be another tricky test, after West Ham came within minutes of ending Bayer Leverkusen’s remarkable 44-game unbeaten run on Thursday.

Well, the 60-year-old is expecting a difficult game for his West Ham side in south London, and paid tribute to Crystal Palace supporters for making Selhurst Park such an intimidating arena.

As quoted by West Ham’s official website, Moyes said: “I think going to Palace is always a difficult encounter. I think all the managers would say it’s never an easy place to go and get a result. They’ve got a terrific support and it’s another tough game.

“I think they’ve proved tricky opposition because they’ve got good players. They have some really talented individuals.

“The Premier League every week is the same. You can talk big about what the opposition are because the level in the Premier League is so high.”

While Glasner had never previously managed in England before, the Austrian did go up against Moyes in the UEFA Europa League semi-finals back in the 2021/22 campaign when Eintracht Frankfurt clashed with West Ham.

The man from Salzburg oversaw a 2-1 win at the London Stadium in the first leg, before securing a place in the UEFA Europa League final with a 1-0 win in the second leg back on German soil.

West Ham are – of course – a different side to the team from 2022, losing Declan Rice to Arsenal in that time, although Glasner will surely be confident of defeating Moyes after already outwitting the Scot on two occasions.
