David Moyes gave another twist on Jarrod Bowen.

West Ham United boss David Moyes would have been over the moon to have Jarrod Bowen back and available for selection last night.

David Moyes started Jarrod Bowen for West Ham against Bayer Leverkusen at the London Stadium, after he had been absent from action for 12 days with a hip problem.

After he left the pitch against Wolves two weeks ago, the injury he suffered initially didn’t seem to be a serious one.

However, the 27-year-old was then forced to miss our next two games against Bayer Leverkusen and Fulham respectively.

Having him back fit last night was a major boost for everyone involved with the Hammers. The shot in the arm of having Jarrod start the game definitely contributed to our brilliant performance.

Next is is a must-win game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday. Bowen will be crucial to our hopes of picking up all three points.

The Scot addressed the media this afternoon for his pre-match press conference ahead of the Palace clash.

We all know how important this game is. Fail to win and there’s absolutely no chance we will be playing European football again next season.

However, win the game and a fourth consecutive continental campaign will be well within our reach. In order to do just that, we will need Jarrod to be firing on all cylinders once again

Moyes provided an update on Bowen when asked by reporters how he’s feeling today, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“Jarrod’s always quite robust, but I know he was really touch and go for last night’s match, and he was really close to not playing. He took an injection before the fixture, so we’ll need to see how he is and how he’s reacted to that.”

West Ham need at least three wins from our final five games if we are to have any chance of qualifying for Europe again next season, probably four if we’re being honest.

And the David Moyes update on Jarrod Bowen is certainly somewhat of a concern heading into the clash with the Eagles. Let’s hope that the 27-year-old wasn’t rushed back too quickly yesterday.
