How Leicester City could set up at the Hawthorns with Enzo Maresca likely to bring back into the fold many of those he left on the bench for the trip to Sheffield Wednesday
Conor Coady could start back-to-back matches for the first time at Leicester City as Enzo Maresca copes with the injury to Wout Faes.
Coady’s injury trouble at the start of the year has seen him miss out on being a City regular in the first half of the season, with Jannik Vestergaard performing well in the centre of defence. But with Faes a big doubt because of a dead leg sustained at Sheffield Wednesday, Coady could keep the spot he was handed in midweek as part of Maresca’s rotation. Harry Souttar is the other option.
But many of those who started the game on the bench at Hillsborough are set to come back into the side. James Justin, Wilfred Ndidi and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who were all second-half substitutes on Wednesday, are set to start.
The big decisions for Maresca are up front and on the wing. Kelechi Iheanacho feels likely to come back in for Jamie Vardy in the striker role, with the number nine rarely starting two matches in a row.
Then on the wing, two out of Kasey McAteer, Stephy Mavididi, and Abdul Fatawu will start. Although Fatawu scored, his wild shots from distance afterwards were not what Maresca wanted, and so McAteer may come back in. That would mean there are five changes in total.
Predicted City line-up (4-3-3): Hermansen; Ricardo, Coady, Vestergaard, Justin; Winks, Ndidi, Dewsbury-Hall; McAteer, Iheanacho, Mavididi. Subs from: Stolarczyk, Souttar, Choudhury, Casadei, Praet, Yunus, Albrighton, Fatawu, Vardy, Daka, Cannon.
