Chris Allen was delighted with the performance the Under-21s produced, as they hit Crewe Alexandra for six in the Professional Development League.
City ran riot at Alexandra Park, with goals from Aidan Dausch, Bradley Stretton, Rylie Siddall, Kai Andrews and a brace from Justin Obikwu wrapping up the points.
The Under-21s built on their performance last time out against Studley, when they progressed into the next round of the Birmingham Senior Cup.
“It was a good performance and goals to go with it as well with the six goals and there was hardly anything to critique in the game today, other than trying to be better.
“It’s weird, we scored six goals, but can we be better final third? It’s odd.
“It’s odd me saying that but the finesse things. Getting the final pass away, the weight of the pass and that did connect today and it’s what we’ve been looking for that for majority of season and it came together.”
“It was brilliant and there was good pace within the team. So, when they actually attacked, we pressed and won it on the counter and we’ve got good pace with Aidan Dausch and then you’ve got Justin Obikwu coming on with great pace.
“Jayden Smith down the outside caused them all sorts of problems and then it’s just trying to work on the final ball in the box and finishing off but it was a good performance all around.”
“Today we’ve got the ball further up the pitch and we used Aidan Dausch a little bit more, putting the ball in behind for our runners.
“We caused their backline a little bit more problems which allowed us to play a little bit more and be patient and then when you get your goals up you can be patient on the ball a little bit more.”
