Celtic Winger Looks Certain to Make Parkhead Exit

Fresh interest has emerged in young Celtic attacker Rocco Vata. The Ireland under-19 internationalist is yet to renew his Parkhead deal and if he doesn’t, clubs could sign him for an insignificant £350,000 development fee next summer.

Latest interest in the teenage frontman comes from Serie A side Frosinone. They have joined fellow Italian team Torino in the race for Vata having scouted him when he played for Ireland under-19s against Albania under-19s this month (Daily Record).

Vata has scored 11 goals for Celtic’s B team this season across all competitions. Several sides were in attendance to watch him net away at Brighton in the Premier League Youth International Cup last Friday night.

A player of high potential, notable transfer interest in Vata comes as no surprise. He has had few opportunities in the Celtic first-team since Brendan Rodgers returned to the club which will be frustrating for him.

The 18-year-old has once more shone for the B team yet his chances at a higher level remain limited. It will be intriguing to see if Celtic loses yet another one of their talented youngsters or if the situation is resolved and Vata ends up staying put.

A year ago Rocco was determined to make the Celtic first team squad, but after Brendan Rodgers told him in the summer that he wouldn’t be part of his plans this season, Rocco has since re-evaluated. CeltsAreHere has been told unless there’s a massive change of heart from both the Celtic manager and Rocco, he will leave either in January or the summer.
