Celtic must be cautious not to spend too much of their January budget on reported target Bojan Miovski.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers and Tottenham defender Alan Hutton hailed the Aberdeen striker as “incredible” amid his 14-goal haul this season.
As revealed by Football Insider (28 December), the Hoops have a three-man transfer list for the January window and have prioritised the signing of a centre-forward.
Sources also told Football Insider (29 December) that Brendan Rodgers’ side have up to £10million to spend in the winter window.
Hutton admitted that Miovski would give the squad “something a little bit different” but warned Rodgers not to overspend in one position as Celtic are thin in other areas.
“They can’t spend all their money on the striker position,” he told Football Insider.
“Then they’ll be left short elsewhere. I think Miovski is an incredible player and he gave Rangers some real problems.
“He scores goals and he ticks all the boxes. It’s something that Celtic could do with.
“Obviously, they have Oh Hyeon-gyu who’s a young guy who’s getting used to the league.
“Kyogo Furuhashi also scores goals, but sometimes you need something a little bit different.
“That’s what Miovski gives you. If they can get him for the right fee then of course they’ll take him if Aberdeen are willing to sell.
“But they need to make sure they have money for the other positions that Brendan Rodgers wants to fill.”
