Callum O’Hare send off and ‘painful farewell

Sky Blues fans are already thinking about the summer recruitment drive and where Mark Robins is looking to strengthen his side to go again next term.

The team have one more game to go, a Legends Day clash with 17th placed Queens Park Rangers at the CBS Arena, after which it will be time to take stock and replenish the squad. Although there’s not expected to be such a big turnover as last summer, several players will inevitably be leaving and new ones brought in as City look to improve and be better equipped for a promotion push in 2024/25.

AT: Not really. I think the team need to be tighter at the back, having only kept 12 clean sheets and conceded far too many silly goals. I appreciate it’s not always the fault of the defenders and that it’s a collective responsibility, but aside from Milan, Bobby T and Bidders, the defence hasn’t been good enough on a consistent basis. I think the goalkeeper position also needs looking at.

AT: I agree and feel both goalkeeper and defence needs strengthening this summer. Not enough clean sheets (12 compared to 22 last season) shows the club have gone backwards in that department. The positive, however, is that City have scored more goals.

AT: 25 for senior players, including two senior keepers. You can have under-21s as back-up. The key point is that they need to be 25 quality players who can all contribute and compete to a high level over the course of the season.
