Brendan Rodgers explains Cameron Carter-Vickers issue

Brendan Rodgers revealed that Cameron Carter-Vickers was substituted at half-time against Hibs as a precaution.

Mentioning hamstring however will be a concern with the defender spending time on the sidelines earlier in the season after suffering a hamstring knock in the second match of the season, away to Aberdeen.

Nat Phillips played alongside Liam Scales during the second half but was at fault for the goal scored by Christian Doidge when Celtic were leading 4-1

Just a precaution. He felt his hamstring tight. He wanted to continue, but there’s no point when we a centre-half on the bench.

Sunday’s plastic surface at Kilmarnock isn’t the sort of surface to take any chances on, back in August Maik Nawrocki suffered a hamstring injury in the closing stages of Celtic’s League Cup exit.

There appeared to be no other injury concerns in tonight’s 4-1 win with Tomoki Iwata putting in an impressive display as a holding midfielder which allowed Callum McGregor to play in a more advanced midfield role.

“We scored four goals and could have had a few more. Overall the mentality of the team is very good.”

Brendan Rodgers reflects on Celtic’s 4-1 win over Hibernian and praises the visitors, adding “the league would be a better league if teams play like Hibs”
