Stoke City Championship fixtures 2024/25 in full

Stoke City will start their first full season under head coach Steven Schumacher with a home game against Coventry.

The fixture list announced by the EFL this morning reveals that Stoke will host Mark Robins’ play-off chasers at 12.30pm at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday, August 10. The match will be shown live on television.

The first month also sees Schumacher take on former club Plymouth Argyle in what will be a much-hyped return to Home Park while there is a home derby against West Bromwich Albion as well as a trip to Watford. The season will end away at Derby County, promoted back from League One, on May 3. The final home match will be the previous weekend against Sheffield United.

It’s a reunion with Oxford United in mid-September, the first time that the clubs will have met since a 1-1 draw in Division Two back in February 2001. The long trip back to Portsmouth, who were also promoted, is on a Wednesday night in January.

It’s Leeds United at home on Boxing Day and Burnley away on New Year’s Day. It’s Sheffield Wednesday at home on Good Friday and Leeds away on Easter Monday.

Up to 24 Stoke matches, including the opening day, will be shown live on Sky Sports this season due to a five-year £935m deal with the EFL. Sky have vowed to confirm within the next week any date and time changes for all fixtures up to the end of September.

The blackout rules designed to protect match day attendances on Saturday afternoons mean that games selected will not kick off at the traditional time. TV slots include 12.30pm kick-offs on Saturday or Sunday and evening games on Thursday, Friday or Monday.
