According to reports, Ipswich have enquired about Fulham loanee Jay Stansfield heading into the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old – on loan from Premier League club Fulham – has five goals in total for Blues and two goals and that assist came under Rooney.
It is claimed by the East Anglian Daily Times that Ipswich Town are plotting a permanent move for the striker.
The Sun journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon that Kieran McKenna will have a budget of £3m to spend next month, and will be able to offer £15,000-a-week wages.
It is unsure yet what Fulham’s stance is on Stansfield, and whether they would be interested in cashing in on the youngster.
Stansfield is on a season-long loan at St Andrew’s but as is the case with most loan deals, parent clubs recall their loaned out players if they see a better opportunity arise.
If this is the case Wayne Rooney and his backroom staff will have their work cut out in January to find a suitable replacement on a shoestring budget.
Opportunity for someone else if he goes.We need Hall back pronto. We should be off loading juke and hogan. Then loan/ buy 3 new strikers. Target man, pace, decent finisher. We haven’t had a good striker since Kevin Phillips. The lad is a decent striker and just signed a 4 year contract so Fulham obviously are Aware of his ability…..Good luck with signing him.
