Big twist as West Ham star Lucas Paqueta is handed second chance

Brazil international and West Ham play-maker Lucas Paqueta has experienced a tough season on the whole, in spite of his brilliance when playing for us.

Before the season began in the summer, news emerged that the 26-year-old was under investigation by the FA and FIFA regarding irregular betting patterns.

Paqueta has also suffered with a knee issue that kept him out of action for around seven weeks from early January.

The former Lyon star returned to David Moyes‘s starting line up on Monday night for our clash with Brentford, and that was really good to see.

The Hammers star was banished from the Brazil national team squad eight months ago, when news emerged of the investigation regarding potential betting breaches.

However, Paqueta has now been called up back into the squad for their upcoming internationals against England and Spain (Evening Standard).

Paqueta recently met new Brazil boss Dorival Junior for dinner in London, so that meeting obviously went very well indeed.

Being back involved with the Brazil national team squad will be a major boost for West Ham star Lucas Paqueta, and I reckon he’ll start to perform to even higher levels now as a result.

Obviously it will be even better for him if he is officially cleared from any wrongdoing regarding the betting scandal.

Either way, it surely has to reach a conclusion soon and for now, things are looking pretty positive for Paqueta and West Ham once again.
