In the Eastern Conference Playoff Finals, the Boston Celtics easily defeated the Indiana Pacers 4-0. Throughout the series, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the standout pair of the Boston Celtics, were the most impressive players.

It’s interesting to note that Stephen A. Smith just gave his outrageous assessment of the two stars on the First Take Show, dividing opinions among Celtics supporters.

On the First Take program, Stephen A. Smith asserted that Jaylen Brown, not Jayson Tatum, is the most crucial member of the Celtics team. Smith also stated that Brown has shown leadership during pivotal moments in his team’s games, whereas Tatum has shied away from those situations. He continued by saying that once Marcus Smart was dealt to the Memphis Grizzlies, Brown imitated him.

Stephen A. Smith offered his opinion on the First Take Show when asked who on the Celtics team is the most vital player.

I believe Jaylen Brown is the one. You’re hoping to see a performance from Jayson Tatum. Jaylen Brown is the performer you want to inspire the soldiers with. Stephen A. Smith stated that there would undoubtedly be debate over this audacious assertion made by Smith because many people would have varying perspectives on the two elite athletes.

On the sports side of things, in the four-game series against the Pacers, Brown’s scoring was what made him stand out. He averaged 29.8 points on 51.9 percent shooting, but he also contributed 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. This may be one of the reasons why Smith has been so appreciative of Brown rather than Tatum lately.

Mike Greenberg asserts Jayson Tatum wasn’t happy with Jaylen Brown being named ECF MVP

The Boston Celtics‘ Jaylen Brown was on fire against the Indiana Pacers in all games of the ECF Playoff Final series. Not only that, he was also awarded the ECF MVP for his stellar performances throughout the series. When Jaylen Brown wins that award and the moment when it happens, the rest of the team just goes crazy, they’re all so genuinely excited for him and you did not seem to think that it was mirrored and there’s Jayson Tatum. Mike Greenberg said on the “Get Up” show

Notably, Brown and Tatum share a strong bond on and off the pitch and have been vocal about it in the past.

On the sports side of things, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown will be focused on achieving the NBA title together this 2023-24 season. All the other noise regarding the two stars may just be ignored as they have their eyes set on the main prize. The Boston Celtics will face either of the Minnesota Timberwolves / Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals.
