Bayern Munich midfielder ‘ready’ to join Man City on one condition

Manchester City supporters have been greeted by potentially exciting news concerning one of the club’s transfer targets for the upcoming summer market.

That news concerns the club’s interest in Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich and Germany, as City continue their drawing up of a midfield shortlist ahead of the reopening of the summer transfer window this summer.

With Kalvin Phillips unlikely to return from his loan move to West Ham United to regain his place in the Manchester City squad, and Bernardo Silva unsure over his Etihad future, officials from within the City Football Academy will likely have to turn to the market.

However, feasible options at a realistic price range for Manchester City are relatively hard to come by in the current market, and as such the club may have to turn down to favourable opportunities in order to find themselves a deal.

As such, Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich is likely to come to their attention given his unresolved contract situation at the Allianz Arena, and even more so given the latest development over his thoughts on the Etihad club.

That is according to the information of Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ on X, who reports that Joshua Kimmich now ‘only wants to join’ Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City this summer, as it stands.

It is further explained that should his current club Bayern Munich not present him with ‘decent’ new contractual terms and a ‘clear plan on and off the field’, then the versatile Germany international is ‘ready’ to join Guardiola’s side.

Pep Guardiola and Joshua Kimmich know each other from their working relationship during the Catalan’s hugely successful time with Bayern Munich, as the former Barcelona boss coached the player in a number of roles from full-back, central defence, and midfield.

Some within the Etihad have likened Pep Guardiola’s exceptional development of Joshua Kimmich to the ongoing coaching of Rico Lewis at Manchester City, who now finds himself in attacking midfield after first rising into the first-team in full-back and defensive midfield roles.
