West Ham could be dealt a huge triple blow for Crystal Palace as illness sweeps the camp claims source inside the club.
West Ham’s hopes of making it three Premier League wins on the bounce were boosted by news from Palace this week that star player and former David Moyes target Eberechi Eze is out with an ankle injury.
And Roy Hodgson’s key midfielder Cheick Doucoure is also out as fears grow he could miss the rest of the season with an Achilles injury after being stretchered off in the defeat to Luton last time out.
To add to Palace’s misery, West Ham’s star forward Jarrod Bowen was tipped set to return after missing wins over Burnley and Backa Topola due to a knee injury sustained on England duty.
While there are still high hopes Bowen will feature, there is some bad news emerging ahead of the Hammers’ clash with the Eagles at the London Stadium on Sunday.
West Ham could be dealt huge triple blow for Crystal Palace as illness sweeps the camp claims source inside the club.
Star boy Mohammed Kudus, midfield general Edson Alvarez and right-back Vladimir Coufal all missed the game in Serbia with illness.
And Claret and Hugh claim a source inside the club is fearing those three players remain serious doubts for the Palace clash.
“West Ham boss David Moyes will check on Jarrod Bowen‘s injury with the medical staff before deciding on whether the No 20 will be involved against Crystal Palace,” the report states.
“But we understand that he is also waiting on sickness reports surrounding Mohammed Kudus, Vladimir Coufal and Edson Alvarez who have been suffering from a winter bug/virus. There are fears that one of two may come up short having been really ill over the last few days.”
Moyes will obviously be desperate to get all three back involved. But the Scot must also consider the ramifications of allowing the bug to spread further into the team.
A third consecutive Premier League win for West Ham could lift the club up to eighth and just three points off Spurs in fifth – a Champions League place this season.
