Ampadu Voted Player Of The Match Against Peterborough

With two goals and an assist, there was only ever going to be one winner for Boost’s Player of the Match against Peterborough

With Pascal Struijk out injured and Liam Cooper on the bench, Ethan Ampadu stepped forward to wear the captain’s armband, putting in a stellar performance, after moving from his usual position in midfield, to start alongside Joe Rodon in the centre of defence.

It took Leeds 35 minutes to break down Peterborough’s resolve, Jaidon Anthony whipping in a free-kick, for Patrick Bamford to bring it down into the path of a waiting Ampadu, who struck it sweetly.

After half-time, Ampadu would turn provider, launching a beautiful ball upto Patrick Bamford, who would turn and shoot, scoring one of Leeds’ greatest ever goals.

Not settling for a two goal lead, Leeds continued to push all the way to the end, when Ampadu headed home Dan James’ corner in the 90th minute, to seal a 3-0 win and help the Whites progress to the Fourth Round.

Such was Ampadu’s influence on the game, 56% of fans voted for the Welsh star, ahead of Patrick Bamford, who racked up 36%.
