Everton want to sign £20m West Ham United player in January transfer window

Sean Dyche’s Everton are interested in signing Said Benrahma from David Moyes’s West Ham United in the final days of the January transfer window.

That is according to talkSPORT, which has reported West Ham’s stance on a potential exit for Benrahma.

So, what has been reported about Everton, West Ham United and Said Benrahma? Let’s take a look.

Everton linked with West Ham United winger Said Benrahma

Well, according to talkSPORT, Everton are showing interest in securing the services of Said Benrahma from Premier League rivals West Ham United in the final days of the January transfer window.

Benrahma has fallen out of favour at West Ham, and manager David Moyes could move on the Algeria international, who can operate as a left winger or as an attacking midfielder and cost the Hammers £20 million in transfer fees (The Guardian).

The report has noted that West Ham need to offload players to bring in new signings before the January transfer window closes next week.

My View: Said Benrahma should not join Everton

In my opinion, West Ham United winger Said Benrahma should not move to Everton in the coming days.

Everton are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season. Benrahma, who has been linked with Brentford as well, could be playing in the second tier of English football in a few months if he moved to the Toffees now.

Yes, the winger is not getting regular playing time at West Ham at the moment, but that does not mean that he should leave so close to the end of the January transfer window.

I think that Benrahma, who is on the radar of Lyon, would be better off considering his future at the end of the season.

The Algeria international has given one assist in five starts and eight substitute appearances in the Premier League and has provided one assist in four starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Europa League for West Ham this season.
