Steelers work out 7 defenders ahead of Week 18

The Steelers are starting to prepare their offseason roster.

The Steelers worked out seven defenders today, per NFL reporter Aaron Wilson. The list includes three defensive backs, two defensive ends, a defensive tackle, and a linebacker.

Carthell Flowers-Lloyd is a safety who played college football at Stony Brook. In 2022 as a graduate student, Flowers-Lloyd played in 10 games, recording 70 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, two sacks, four passes defensed, and an interception. He spent the 2023 season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL, where the 6’2, 205-pound safety recorded 31 special teams tackles.

Thomas Graham Jr. is a cornerback who played collegiately at the University of Oregon. The 5’11, 197-pound corner was a sixth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. Graham spent his rookie year in Chicago and his next season with the Cleveland Browns, appearing in 11 games over that two-year span, recording 19 total tackles and four passes defensed. He spent the beginning of the 2023 season on the Browns’ injured reserve before being released in November.
