Baltimore Ravens Emerge As Top Landing Spot For $12.5 Million Veteran Running Back

The Baltimore Ravens came up just one game short of going to the Super Bowl in 2023, leading many to question if the team has all the pieces to make a championship run in the future. Quarterback Lamar Jackson won the Most Valuable Player award for the second time in his career but was still unable to make it to the big game. While the team has several playmakers on both sides of the ball, many think the team needs a veteran running back to complement Jackson’s rushing attack, and one free agent could be a top target for Baltimore this offseason.

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry will become a free agent this offseason, making him one of if not the most sought-after players on the open market. The Ravens have emerged as the favorite to land the star running back, which could end up being one of the biggest signings in the offseason if the team decides to grab him.Henry has been one of the most dominant rushers the league has ever seen, so going to Baltimore to go along with the rushing attack of Jackson could become the most dangerous offensive force in the NFL. There were several rumors that the veteran running back would sign with the Ravens at the trade deadline back in October, but the deal ended up not going through in time, leaving Henry with the Titans for the remainder of the season. The veteran running back has amounted to 9,502 rushing yards and 90 touchdowns in his career since entering the league back in 2016. He has rushed for more than 1,000 yards in almost every season he has been in the league, and even had a year with over 2,000 yards on the ground in 2020. Henry’s departure from Tennessee was clear following the final game of the regular season when he made a farewell speech to Titans fans as if he knew he would not return to the team in 2024.
