His seven-yard pass to DJ Moore in the back left corner of the south end zone gave the Bears a 7-0 lead after Younghoe Koo missed a 50-yard field goal. Koo doinked a 42-yarder off the left upright on the next drive, leading Fields to eventually score on a planned nine-yard run over the left guard.
It’s a perfect opportunity for Justin Fields and the run defense to make their point. Plus, when’s the last time it was intimidating for an opponent to play at Soldier Field?
The Bears have a lot on the line over their final two games, especially for coach Matt Eberflus as he looks to make a case to return for 2024. They play two middling teams, starting with the 7-8 Falcons at Soldier Field today, then a visit to the 7-8 Packers next weekend. That’s a step up in competition from facing the Cardinals last week.
The Week 18 games haven’t been scheduled yet, but that is expected to finalized this afternoon or evening.
