Seahawks’ Dwindling Playoff Hopes Rest on Justin Fields, Bears – Locked On Podcast
Last January, the Seattle Seahawks needed to win their season finale and pray for the Detroit Lions to pull off an upset on the road against the Green Bay Packers to make the playoffs.
Thankfully, after Seattle slipped past the Los Angeles Rams in overtime thanks to an interception by Quandre Diggs and game-winning field goal by Jason Myers, Dan Campbell’s team came through at Lambeau Field to help them clinch the NFC’s final wild card spot in dramatic fashion.
After having good fortune bestowed on them a year ago, unfortunately, the Seahawks find themselves in the exact same situation after losing to the Steelers 30-23 on Sunday. Sitting at 8-8 on the season and eighth in the conference standings, they will not only need to beat the Cardinals in Glendale, but they will have to keep fingers crossed the Bears can pull off similar magic against the Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday with both games happening simultaneously.
On a New Years Day edition of Locked On Seahawks, hosts Corbin Smith and Rob Rang break down Seattle’s squandered opportunity on Sunday against Pittsburgh and why the damaging loss will turn 12s into huge Justin Fields fans this weekend.
Smith and Rang also open up their weekly mailbag to answer listener questions and dish out their “Monday Musings” recapping a gut-wrenching loss to the Steelers, including a shoddy effort racking up missed tackles in bunches on defense while allowing over 200 yards rushing.
