Everton ready to sell Dominic Calvert-Lewin as new Goodison contract update emerges
Everton want Dominic Calvert-Lewin to sign a new contract this summer but will sell him if he refuses to sign a new deal, according to Alan Nixon.
The newspaper journalist has reported via his Patreon (19 May) that Sean Dyche wants him tied down to a new deal after a positive end to the campaign.
Should he turn down a contract proposal, the Toffees will look to sell him as Farhad Moshiri looks to ease financial concerns.
Calvert-Lewin has been named as a player the club wants to keep but would let him go if they had to during the summer transfer window.
Should Everton sell Dominic Calvert-Lewin?
Despite his injury concerns, the Englishman has been the Toffees’ best striker option for many seasons under various managers.
This season, despite Dyche signing Beto and Yousef Chermiti, he has proved to have a positive impact as Premier League safety was confirmed with time to spare. Calvert-Lewin scored a dream goal on a perfect day at Goodison Park as a Merseyside derby win was secured against Liverpool. Although this may not be the strongest return, he has spent a lot of time injured or returning to match fitness while playing.].
Dyche needs to convince Calvert-Lewin to stay with his contract ticking down to keep some continuity in his squad.
Given that other strikers who have moved to Goodison Park have struggled, it could prove difficult to replace the Englishman.
