Murder inquiry after woman dies in ‘suspicious circumstances’

Police have launched a murder investigation after a woman died in ‘suspicious circumstances’ in Nuneaton. Emergency services were called to an address on Birmingham Road in Ansley earlier this morning (April 9).
Police officers and ambulances were seen in the area. Warwickshire Police has now confirmed to CoventryLive that a woman in her late 30s has died under suspicious circumstances.
A force spokesperson said that a 39-year-old man from Nuneaton was arrested on suspicion of murder. He is currently in custody.

“Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer,” the police spokesperson said. “The investigation is in its early stages, and enquiries are ongoing.
“We will issue updates as and when the situation clarifies.”
West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) confirmed that two ambulances a paramedic officer were sent to the scene. Sadly, medics could not save the woman.
““We were called just before 8am to an incident at a private address on Birmingham Road, Ansley in Nuneaton,” a WMAS spokesperson said. “Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene. Upon arrival we found a woman. Unfortunately, it was clear that nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed deceased at the scene.”
