Report: The ten missing players currently unavailable to Tottenham Hotspur
- Ange Postecoglou has not had the privilege of having a full squad to choose from for a long time, and that situation is not getting any better any time soon. So, with players injured, suspended, and on international duty, here are all the players missing for Spurs right now.Spurs are dealing with a severe injury crisis, and have been for a couple of months. It pretty much all started with the defeat to Chelsea at the start of November, when the Lilywhites lost key players Micky van de Ven and James Maddison to long-term injuries.
Since then, Ange Postecoglou has seen at least one player succumb to injury every week, along with multiple suspensions along the way.
Now, Postecoglou will also be losing players to international duty, with the African Cup of Nations and the Asia Cup taking place throughout January and into early February.

Who is absent from the Spurs squad right now?
So, with so many absentees to contend with, we thought you might want a comprehensive list of all the players who are currently unavailable within the Spurs squad.
Cristian Romero: Was replaced at half-time during the win over Everton and was spotted with ice on his leg. Turns out, Romero picked up a hamstring strain and will miss 4-5 weeks of action, meaning the earliest he is likely to return will be the Brentford game on January 31.
Micky van de Ven: The Dutchman is also sidelined with a hamstring injury, thought a far more severe one than Romero’s. Van de Ven has been out since the start of November, but it is hoped he can be back for the clash with Manchester United on January 14.
James Maddison: Another player who suffered an injury in the game against Chelsea on November 6. Maddison’s ankle injury is expected to keep him out until the end of January, so he could also return for the Brentford game.
Ivan Perisic: Sustained an ACL injury in training early in the season and may never play for Spurs again. The consensus is that Perisic will be out all season, and his contract expires next summer.
Ryan Sessegnon: The injury-prone Sessegnon has been missing for a very long time, having dealt with a thigh issue since February 2023. There is a chance he will be back at some point this month.
Manor Solomon: Barely had a chance to show what he could do for Spurs before picking up a serious knee injury. The earliest Solomon will be back is the Brentford game at the end of this month, but his recovery could well take a little longer.
Alejo Veliz: There has been no news on Veliz’s condition just yet, but the youngster looked to be in a great deal of pain in the latter stages of the win over Bournemouth. We suspect he has a hamstring injury, and if that’s the case, Veliz could be out for a couple of months.
Yves Bissouma: Bissouma has one game left to serve on a four-game suspension after being sent off against Nottingham Forest in December, so he would be missing the Manchester United fixture anyway. But, the midfielder is also heading to AFCON with Mali, so we’ll have to wait for them to be eliminated before we see Bissouma back for Spurs.
Pape Sarr: The young midfielder has also been called up for international duty, with Senegal taking part in AFCON this month, so Sarr won’t be available for Tottenham until his country are done at the tournament. Sarr also left the field early in the game against Bournemouth with an injury, though Postecoglou did hint that might not be too serious.
Heung-min Son: Tottenham will be without their captain for the foreseeable future, as he will be leading South Korea at the Asia Cup. Son has already departed, and if South Korea go all the way, he won’t be back until the middle of February.
