Here are the notable player absences for the Saints at practice as OTAs get underway
Dennis Allen ended last season with a parting message to his players. The New Orleans Saints coach emphasized commitment and the need to be all in. And this offseason, Allen said he’s been pleased with what he’s seen so far: Attendance was strong Tuesday when the next phase of OTAs began.
But there were some notable absences.
Running back Alvin Kamara, cornerback Marshon Lattimore and defensive end Chase Young were among the players who weren’t in attendance when the Saints took the field for the voluntary practice. Some of the absences were related to injury as Young, for example, is recovering from neck surgery.
“Our focus has to be on the guys who are here,” Allen said
Players aren’t required to report until mandatory minicamp next month (June 11-13)

- LB Nephi Sewell (knee)
Four others – cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry, offensive lineman Oli Udoh, tight end Tommy Hudson and quarterback Nathan Peterman – were in attendance, but did not participate
