SAD NEWS FOR Beto: He could be forced out of Goodison, replacement potentially lined up due to….

Beto to be forced out of Everton as Che Adams transfer news emerges from Goodsion Park

Everton are interested in signing Che Adams from Southampton in the summer transfer window which may see Beto forced out despite only joining last year.

According to a report by Birmingham World (15 March), the Toffees are battling with Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth for his signature.

The interest in the forward has grown as the Scottish international is out of contract at St Mary’s this summer.

Should he make the move to Goodison Park Beto, who joined Everton for £30 million [BBC Sport] in August 2023, could be forced out.

Should Everton replace Beto with Che Adams?

Since making the big money move from Udinese in the summer, the Portuguese forward has scored just three goals.

He has featured in just nine starts while making an additional 20 appearances off the bench under Sean Dyche this campaign [FotMob]. Beto has featured across just 938 minutes which compares to Dominic Calvert-Lewin who has played 2,110 minutes [FotMob] despite all his injury concerns. Adams has had a much more proficient campaign in front of goal but in the Championship as opposed to the Championship. For Russell Martin’s side he has racked up 16 goals while he has provided an additional four assists across 25 starts and 15 substitute appearances [FotMob].

With Adams available on a free transfer he could prove to be a clever piece of business for the financially troubled Everton.

It must be said that Beto may want a move away if he is signed but there is little chance the club would recoup the £30m spent on him.

The signing makes sense but the consequence of that may have a negative impact on squad players.

In other Everton news, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has shared a “bugbear” with supporters.
