Chicago Bears already suffer a minor blow with first round wide receiver before Day 2 of rookie minicamp

It appears the Chicago Bears will be without one of their high-profile players during the second day of rookie minicamp outside Halas Hall.

According to multiple reporters in Chicago, Bears first round wide receiver Rome Odunze will not be practicing today due to hamstring tightness.

Odunze did take the field during the first day of the Bears’ rookie minicamp yesterday and led the wide receivers through the various drills and routes.

While this is more than likely just a precaution, it still is notable that we won’t see Odunze take the field with the rest of the players later today in Chicago.

During the first day of rookie minicamp, Odunze shined connecting multiple times with his new quarterback, and Bears first overall pick, Caleb Williams. Odunze also looked flawless working through the various agility drills on the field with the rest of the wide receivers in attendance.

“I’m excited any time to be able to get onto the field and play football,” Odunze told the media ahead of yesterday’s practice. “I’m excited because that’s what I’m passionate about. So, just trying to be dialed in and go out there and give my best.”
