Beloved sister remembered in latest death and funeral notices for Coventry

A beloved sister, aunt, godmother, and dear friend and neighbour is among those being remembered in the latest death and funeral notices for Coventry.

‘s family announced her death “with heavy hearts”, and said she has passed away after a short illness.

Passed away Peacefully on April 1 after a long illness aged 92. Dearly beloved Father to Colleen, Steve, Suzanne and Jonathan, eight Grandchildren and five great-granddaughters.

Left us with wonderfully happy memories and will be sadly missed by his family and many friends, but he is now reunited with his beloved wife Margaret. Funeral service to be held at 1pm on Tuesday, April 30, at St John the Divine Church, Robin Hood Road, Coventry, CV3 3AY.

Iris BOWRON

Marcus and Clare Bowron would like to announce the passing of their mum Iris Gwendoline Bowron (91) formerly Iris Davies, mother to Thomas, Joseph, Annette and Marcus. She passed away at 10.30am, April 3, at Coundon Manor Care Home where she spent her last few weeks.

Iris had been under the spell of Alzheimer’s for many years. She will be dearly missed.

The funeral will be held at Charter Chapel, Canley Crematorium on May 3 at 11.30am and afterwards at Keresley Coronation Club, Bennetts Rd. We would like as many friends and family to attend to celebrate the life of a lovely lady, please wear an item of Red clothing in honour of Iris, as this was Iris’s favourite colour.

Edna Florence May BOYD

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edna Florence May Boyd, beloved sister of Barbara, aunt, godmother, dear friend and neighbour. Edna passed away peacefully at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire following a short illness.

Known for her unwavering love, wit and kindness, Edna’s warm personality and spirit brought joy to all who knew her and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A cremation service will be held on Thursday, May 2, in Cannon Hill Chapel, Canley Crematorium at 12 Noon.

Joyce CARRICK (née Kirton)

(née Kirton) Much loved wife to the late John. Dearly loved mum to Paul, Lorraine, Julie, Wendy and John.

Devoted nan and great nan. Passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, aged 83 years.

Rachel Frances GOODYER (nee Barnes)

(nee Barnes) Passed away peacefully on April 1, aged 55 years. Beloved Wife of Stuart, cherished Daughter of the late Christine and Frank, much loved Sister, Aunt and Friend. Hardworking colleague to many at Coventry City Council, and passionate supporter of the mighty Sky Blues.

We are grateful for the kindness and professionalism of staff at Myton Hospice Coventry who cared for Rachel during her last weeks. Funeral service to be held at Coventry Cathedral on Thursday, May 2, at 1pm, followed by a short committal service for family and close friends at 2.30p.m at the Charter Chapel, Canley Crematorium. (nee Perry) Passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 9, aged 80 years. Beloved wife of Robert Herdman.

Adored Mum to Steve and Mark and Mother-in-law to Sarah and Anne. Much loved Nan of Jack, Lucy and Abbie.

Teresa May HUGHES

Sadly passed away Saturday, April 6, aged 65 Years. A dedicated mother, wife and educator, Teresa was born and raised in Coventry.

She worked in various roles throughout her life but her work at Finham Park School will feature as her most prominent. Her work will never be forgotten by the individual students she managed to help throughout the years.

She is Succeeded by her three children, Michael, Warren and Aishling Hughes and her 3 grandchildren, Penelope, Josephine and Annabel. Teresa will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. Funeral service to take place on Monday, April 29, at Canley Crematorium Cannon Hill Chapel at 10:30am.
