What Daniel Farke thinks about Jack Harrison’s future at Leeds United as Everton plan talks
Jack Harrison is due to return to Leeds United this summer after spending the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Everton and now, a new report has shared what Daniel Farke thinks about Harrison’s future.
Harrison, 27, had spent the past five years at Elland Road and clocked up an enormous 206 games for the Yorkshire outfit. The uncapped Englishman had a hand in 68 goals for Leeds after joining on loan in 2018.
The winger saw a move to Leicester City fall through on deadline day in January and as a result, was given a new Leeds contract. But that new contract saw Victor Orta include his infamous relegation loan clause.
It meant that when Leeds were relegated in the summer, Harrison had the chance to leave Elland Road on loan without The Whites being able to do anything about it and he chose to join Sean Dyche’s Everton.
He was one of eight players to leave Leeds using Orta’s clause, along with the likes of Marc Roca and Max Wober. Harrison has since impressed at Goodison Park, having a hand in seven goals in 35 appearances.
Farke stance on Harrison future at Leeds as Everton plan talks
Everton’s sporting director Kevin Thelwell has confirmed that The Toffees are in contact with Leeds with talks scheduled over a move. The Toffees are confident of doing a deal for Harrison this summer.
Leeds losing to Southampton in the play-off final could now mean that Orta’s much-criticised clause may become active again, with Leeds remaining in the Championship and that is ‘good news’ for Everton.
They may plan to sign Harrison on a second loan, meaning Leeds are unable to bring in any cash. Now, TeamTalk deliver an update and they share Farke’s stance on Harrison, whether he wants him or not.
Harrison’s Leeds future is over with Farke ready to cash in
The report states that Farke is happy for Harrison to be sold, meaning that in the unlikely situation that Harrison wanted to come back to Yorkshire, he’d still be put on the transfer list in the summer window.
Leeds have plenty of options out wide but could be willing to wave goodbye to their current options in the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto, with the latter also a possible target for Everton.
It is going to be another tumultuous summer for Leeds and Farke but at least this time, Farke knows what he is going into and has more time to get things sorted so, £11m Harrison then, looks like he will leave.
