Chicago Bears set to unveil new plans for stadium on lakefront
Plans for the Chicago Bears’ new domed stadium have shifted from Arlington Heights to Chicago’s lakefront.
CHICAGO, Ill., — The Chicago Bears have a big week ahead of them for the future of the franchise with the 2024 NFL draft beginning on Thursday night in Detroit. But the future home of the team is also in focus.
Multiple reports have confirmed that the Bears will hold a meeting with the city of Chicago on Wednesday afternoon to unveil new plans for a domed stadium on the lakefront. The presser will be hosted a day before the team is set to draft quarterback Caleb Williams No. 1 overall.
For the Bears, the stadium saga has taken a few twists over the past three or so years. The team purchased property in Arlington Heights, the home of the former racetrack, and unveiled plans to build a state-of-the-art stadium there. They even demolished the property last Summer. However, there were some hiccups and over the past six months, momentum has shifted to them staying in the city of Chicago with a new stadium. The plans set to be unveiled will include an outlook of the stadium to be built on the lakefront.
