NFL Mock: Ravens Lamar Jackson Gets ‘Red Zone Menace’
The Baltimore Ravens offense under Todd Monken was one of the best in the NFL as they ended the regular season with a 13-4 record and were the fourth-highest scoring offense in football (28.4/g). While the Ravens were the NFL’s leading rushing team, they also had some nice weapons on the outside for Lamar Jackson. But now, with Nelson Agholor and Odell Beckham Jr., who combined totaled 946 yards and seven touchdowns on 70 receptions set to hit free agency, is it unknown if they will return in 2024. But in NFL.com’s latest mock draft, the Ravens add another weapon for Jackson in Florida State’s Keon Coleman.
“An offensive lineman could be the play for the Ravens in Round 1,” NFL.com writes. “In this case, they decide to give Lamar Jackson a receiver who can win jump-ball battles and be a menace in the red zone.”
Looking at Coleman’s stats they don’t really jump out off the screen…until you see his touchdown total from last season. The 6-4, 210lb receiver hauled in 11 touchdowns (all red zone) as he caught 50 passes for 658 yards. In Coleman, the Ravens would be getting a physical beast as his presence on the field is something that raises the eyebrow. Despite his size, Coleman still has great speed and acceleration while his size makes him a nightmare matchup in the red zone.
