Everton Are Showing Interest In This Juventus Talent: Should Dyche Bring Him On Board?

Everton are showing interest in Juventus talent Filip Kostic as they look to strengthen their squad in the summer.

In a recent report, Tutto Juve mentioned that Everton are showing interest in Juventus talent Filip Kostic. It has been claimed that the Toffees could face competition in the form of West Ham United in the race to sign the Serbian wide player in the summer.

Kostic’s Impressive Run Of Form In Serie A

Kostic has enjoyed a decent campaign at the Turin club as he has been responsible for putting in a few impressive performances on the left side of their midfield. The Serbian talent has been involved in 24 matches for Juve this season, picking up four assists in the process across all competitions.

The 31-year-old has proven his worth on the left wing by averaging 1.3 tackles, 1.1 clearances, 0.8 shots and 1.6 key passes per game in Serie A. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball after completing 79.8% of his attempted passes in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored). Kostic is under contract at the Italian club until the summer of 2026. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Toffees to recruit him on a cut-price deal at the end of this season.

Should Everton Head Coach Sean Dyche Bring Kostic On Board?

Kostic loves a tackle and usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the offensive. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play a few decisive passes from the left flank. The Serbian sensation can even use his strong 1.84m frame to dominate the opposition in the air.

Kostic has got a wealth of experience at the highest level but it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in Premier League football. Still, we can expect him to bring more quality to Everton boss Sean Dyche’s starting XI.

At 31, Kostic is a player on the decline but would no doubt improve the Merseyside club‘s frontline in the short term. Thus, the Toffees would be wise to try everything they can to bring him on board when the transfer window commences later this year. Someone with Kostic’s experience and skillset would help Everton compete across all fronts over the next couple of seasons. However, he won’t be a long-term fix to Dyche’s attacking concerns at Goodison Park.
