Baltimore Ravens Trade for $45 Million Linebacker in Dream Scenario

Even though the Baltimore Ravens fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship, the team still boasted a top-rank defense throughout the previous season. If the team does the offseason right by acquiring Haason Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles, there’s a chance Baltimore can get over the hump in the next campaign.

Like Baltimore, the Philadelphia Eagles had a good finish to their regular season with an 11-6 record, placing them in the second place of the NFC East division. Unfortunately, they lost in the wild card round to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a score of 32-9.

That blowout loss was seen by many as one of the worst in NFL history, leading the front office to fire defensive coordinator Sean Desai and offensive coordinator Brian Johnson. Even if that’s the case, the $45 million lineback still had a good run with the Eagles last season by posting 11 sacks and 35 quarterback pressures.

Baltimore Ravens Acquire Haason Reddick in a Dream Trade Scenario With the Philadelphia Eagles

With Philadelphia giving him permission to seek a trade, the Baltimore Ravens need to pounce on Reddick before any other team makes their move. Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report explains more:

“The 29-year-old is coming off a tremendous season—he logged 11 sacks and 35 quarterback pressures—and he’d be a tremendous addition to Baltimore’s front seven.

Pass-rushers of Reddick’s caliber typically command first-round compensation on the trade market. However, a deep free-agent class and Philadelphia’s apparent willingness to move him could keep his price point down.

The Temple product may only command a second-round pick, which is what the Washington Commanders got for Montez Sweat at the trade deadline. Landing Reddick at that price point, possibly with a 2025 selection, would be a dream for the Ravens,” Knox wrote.

Reddick’s potential will surely be used to its full capacity by a contender like the Ravens. It’d be interesting to see what his return will be or whether another team will swoop in to get him from the Eagles.
