Watch: Aaron Judge blasts 13th home run in Yankees’ seventh straight win

Center fielder Aaron Judge is making New York Yankee fans forget about his slump at the beginning of the season.

On Sunday against the White Sox, at the bottom of the fifth inning, Judge crushed an 87 mph pitch from Chicago’s Chris Flexen for a 339-foot, two-run home run. The Yankees beat Chicago 7-2, earning their seventh straight victory  Aaron Judge goes the other way for his 13th home run of the year! In 48 games, Judge is tied for the fourth-most home runs (13) in baseball and 15th in RBI (32). The former American League MVP is also seventh in OPS (.980).

It’s a remarkable turnaround. Yankees manager Aaron Boone recently admitted that he was considering flipping Judge and right fielder Juan Soto in New York’s batting order after he posted an underwhelming .811 OPS in April.

Judge feels he still hasn’t found his groove, but he’s getting closer.

“We’re getting there,” Judge recently said, via MLB.com. “Not there yet. Hopefully, we get there when we’re talking in November.” The Yankees (33-15) are first in the AL East and look like one of the best teams in baseball. On Saturday, they became the first team this season to have three players (Judge, Soto and designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton) log 10 or more home runs.
