Alan Myers provides transfer update on Premier League midfielder after rumours Everton have made a bid

Everton are not expected to enjoy a summer laden with lots of new signings, but to bolster a side that should have finished comfortably in mid-table will be a goal of Kevin Thelwell’s.

However, with Manchester United after Jarrad Branthwaite, and Amadou Onana pushing to leave Everton, the director of football will also want to do so without seeing Sean Dyche’s squad ravaged in the process.

It has been widely accepted that they might have to sell before they can buy, but this latest update on Tim Iroegbunam has startlingly debunked that theory.

Alan Myers, taking to X, has now issued his version of events on this transfer saga though.

Alan Myers offers Tim Iroegbunam update

It was first reported by journalist John Townley that Everton wanted Tim Iroegbunam, and since then it has seemingly been picked up everywhere.

Many Evertonians, without knowing much about the 20-year-old, have lauded the thinking behind this proposed deal, seeking to snag undervalued talent who might not get a chance elsewhere and sell them the promise of football on Merseyside. It may not be stunning football, but they can offer minutes to this kind of player. Stars like Branthwaite, James Garner, Onana and Vitaliy Mykolenko will attest to this.
