DYCHE AWARDED MANAGER OF THE MONTH
Sean Dyche has been awarded the Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month for April.
It was a memorable month for the Blues who picked up 13 points out of a possible 18, including four consecutive wins at home – without conceding a goal – that secured top-flight football for the 2024/25 season.
That included a glorious six days when the Toffees saw off Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and Brentford at Goodison Park.
Dyche becomes the first Everton manager to receive the award since Carlo Ancelotti back in September 2020. It is also the third time the Blues boss has picked up the award in his managerial career.
“I’m very pleased, obviously on behalf of firstly myself, but of my staff and the players, and the fans who have played their part,” he said.
“It was a really good run, very pleasing and a tough month of fixtures, especially with one outstanding fixture which didn’t go our way, of course. But I think the way the way we performed generally as a group has been very pleasing.”
When asked which result he enjoyed the most during April’s run, Dyche – like most Evertonians – went with the 2-0 Merseyside derby success.
“The derby win is the one that stands out,” Dyche added. “To come off the back of a very important win against Nottingham Forest and then to go into that game. You know what it’s like with all the old stories, after the Lord Mayor’s show and that sort of thing.
“To deliver such a tactically strong performance and find the big moments in front of the fans at Goodison and the recent history of that game was pleasing. I think that’s the performance that stands out from April, without a doubt.”
Dyche is the second Everton manager to be credited with his efforts last month, as Women’s team boss, Brian Sorensen was selected as the Barclays Women’s Super League Manager of the Month for April.
