Free Agency Rumor: Ravens LB Queen to Seahawks?

The Seattle Seahawks could be in need of a linebacker in free agency this offseason. With new head coach Mike Macdonald, having a middle linebacker to set the tone with a defensive-minded philosophy is important, and he may look towards his old team, the Baltimore Ravens, for assistance.

Bleacher Report suggests that linebacker Patrick Queen could be a fit for the Seahawks in free agency. “The Seahawks just replaced Pete Carroll with former Ravens defensive coordinator Mike MacDonald. They also happen to have a need at inside linebacker, as Jordyn Brooks and Bobby Wagner are set to hit free agency,” Bleacher Report writes. “Coaches generally like to bring a few players with them. It helps others assimilate to the new culture and learn the scheme. Macdonald should want to bring Queen to the Pacific Northwest to be the flag-bearer for the defense, while Queen should want to reunite with his former coach to build on his career year.” Queen notched a career-high 133 tackles with nine for loss, six quarterback hits, 3.5 sacks, one interception, six passes broken up and one forced fumble in his 17 starts with the Ravens this season. If he was to bring his talents to the pacific northwest, he could pick up where he left off in Baltimore and climb the ladder towards becoming one of the best linebackers in the entire league in Seattle.
