Everton news: Keith Wyness shares exciting Sean Dyche claim
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed the “finishing line is in the distance” for the club if Sean Dyche remains in his post.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested the 2024-25 campaign will be about “stability” and maintaining the club’s Premier League status, ahead of a big-money takeover in 12 months.
Dyche led Everton to safety for the second consecutive season, finishing 14 points clear of the drop zone despite being deducted eight points.
It is believed multiple clubs could be plotting a move to appoint the ex-Burnley boss.
Dyche future ‘crucial’ to Everton emerging from uncertainty, says Wyness
Everton have been hamstrung in the transfer market with the club yet to be purchased from Farhad Moshiri, who has halted funding.
Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I’ve always felt that the 2024-25 season will come down to sorting out a deal that can stabilise the debt and keep Everton in the Premier League.
“Then there will be a bigger move going forward with a long-term new owner in 12 months’ time. “I think fans can now see the finishing line in the distance.
“Sean Dyche staying and stabilising the club is crucial to that. Finally, I can see the sunshine on the horizon, but we’re not there yet.
“I do feel Everton are well on the way.”
