Montez Sweat praises DJ Moore after digs from Shannon Sharpe

On Football Night in Chicago, Matt Verderame of Sports Illustrated joins Mark Carman to discuss why the Bears were wise to retain Matt Eberflus.

Although DJ Moore of the Chicago Bears is regarded as one of the league’s top wide receivers, Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe does not agree, and Montez Sweat supported his friend on social media.

When Sharpe was questioned about Saturday’s wild card games, he listed 18 players that he believed to be superior to Moore in order to explain why he wouldn’t consider Moore to be one of the finest pass-catchers in the game.

Sweat didn’t think twice when he questioned which ones Moore should be ranked higher than:

“Every eighteen,” he declared.

Moore recorded career highs in receptions (96), receiving yards (1,364), and touchdowns (8) during his rookie campaign with the Bears.

He joined Marty Booker, Allen Robinson, and Brandon Marshall as the only Bears wide receivers to catch 96 or more passes in a single season.

Additionally, Moore’s 1,364 yards in a single season ranked fourth among all Bears receivers. Alshon Jeffery and Marcus Robinson both eclipsed 1,400 yards in a season for the Bears, while Marshall established the team record for receptions in 2012 with 1,508 yards.
