Top story:Budweiser Clydesdales to make appearance at La Crosse’s Big River Rally in June
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — The iconic Budweiser Clydesdales are coming to La Crosse next month as part of the Big River Rally.
The Clydesdales will be at the Oktoberfest Grounds on Saturday, June 28, where they’ll be harnessed to their signature red beer wagon. They will also participate in a downtown procession at 2 p.m.
These horses have represented Anheuser-Busch since 1933. Each Clydesdale in the hitch stands approximately six feet tall at the shoulder, weighs about 2,000 pounds, and consumes up to 50 pounds of hay daily.
The horses travel with a Dalmatian companion, continuing a tradition from early brewing days when the dogs protected the horses during deliveries.
