Teoscar Hernández agree a 3-year, $72 million deal contract &…

While the expectation is that Teoscar Hernández will re-sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers, a deal has yet to be struck and he is still being courted by other teams.

He has stated many times that he is hopeful to remain in LA, and the Dodgers have offered the same sentiment, but yet, here we sit, seven days before Christmas without the gift of a deal done.

MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand provided an update on a flurry of free agent musings and included a nice little nugget regarding Hernández and his contract desires.

“The Dodgers and Hernández seemed headed for a reunion, but the two sides haven’t been able to reach a deal thus far. That opened the door for other teams – namely the Red Sox and Blue Jays – to jump in on the outfielder, who is seeking a three-year deal in the $22-24 million a year range, per sources,” Feinsand wrote.

Whether a not a deal gets done before Christmas is yet to be seen and we do not have a concrete update on where negotiations are at between Hernández and the Dodgers.

On one side, the longer the Dodgers take, the more opportunity they give to the sharks in the water to circle and eventually land a deal. On the other hand, this could show some good faith that both sides are in agreement to get a deal done, but just need to get the exact figure to work for both sides.

Many around the league are confident that the Los Angeles Dodgers get it done, but we will continue to monitor the situation.
