Police name suspect over Coventry schoolboy ‘hit and run’ death

Police have urged the public not to approach a man they have named a suspect in the hit and run death of a schoolboy. Officers said anyone spotting Dolars Aleksanders should instead call 999 immediately.

An an image of the 21-year-old was issued by West Midlands police after schoolboy Keaton Slater was killed in Coventry on Friday afternoon.

The 12-year-old Coventry City fan was hit by a BMW on Radford Road at around 4.30pm reports CoventryLive. Aleksanders is wanted on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, West Midlands Police said

Detectives have urged people ‘not to approach’ Aleksanders. Anyone who sees the 21-year-old has been urged to call 999.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Have you seen Dolars Aleksanders? He is wanted on suspicion of death by dangerous driving after a 12-year-old boy died following a collision on Radford Road in Coventry on Friday (June 14).

“If you have seen him, or know where he is, please do not approach him but call 999 immediately, quoting log 3407 of June 14.”
