Lefty who pitched twice for Tigers in 2023 promoted to big leagues with Braves

DETROIT — A left-handed reliever who made two brief cameos for the Detroit Tigers in 2023 is back in the big leagues with the Atlanta Braves.

Logue, 28, pitched in three games over two short stints for the Tigers in 2023 but spent most of the year with Triple-A Toledo.

Logue allowed nine runs in 11 innings with the Tigers, striking out 10 and walking two. He was 3-10 with a 6.58 ERA over 90 1/3 innings with Toledo.

Logue pitched in 14 games (10 starts) for the Oakland Athletics in 2022, posting a 6.79 ERA while striking out 42 and walking 20 in 57 innings. He was a ninth-round pick out of the University of Kentucky by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2017.

Logue was one of several players claimed on waivers by the Tigers two winters ago. He stayed in the organization after being passed through waivers a second time by the Tigers

Logue has had more success in the Braves’ system, posting a 2.93 ERA over two levels with 73 strikeouts and 21 walks in 76 2/3 innings.
