Good News “Ignite” At Bolton Wanderers As Their Top Star Man Just…
Bolton Wanderers skipper making good progress on injury recovery, will still miss Wrexham trip
Bolton Wanderers boss Steven Schumacher has said defender Ricardo Santos has been back training on the grass.
Bolton Wanderers have been without the centre-back since January. He suffered a pelvic injury but has been making good progress as he looks to return for BWFC.
Santos, 29, has made 31 appearances in all competitions so far this season, 24 of which have come in League One, and he has scored one goal. He is under contract with the Trotters until the end of the campaign.
In this latest update regarding his condition, Schumacher has said, as per a report by The Bolton News: “He has been back out there today on the grass, and the plan for him is to keep trying to build up his endurance, because that injection that he had just takes a bit of time to settle in. He still isn’t going to be available for this weekend, and we’ll see how the plan is for him next week.”
Bolton Wanderers injury latest regarding Ricardo Santos
Getting Santos back will be a big boost for Bolton Wanderers.
The Trotters have a big decision to make regarding his long-term future
He is due to become a free agent in late June as things stand and they risk losing him for nothing
Santos has been on the books of his current club since 2020 and has since played 206 games for them altogether, finding the net on six occasions.
He helped them gain promotion from League Two in his first year and adapted well to the step up a division.
The defender was part of their side who reached the play-off final last term. However, they were beaten at Wembley by Oxford United
Prior to his move to Bolton Wanderers, Santos caught the eye playing for Barnet. He has also been on the books at Peterborough United in the past.
What now for Bolton Wanderers?
Bolton Wanderers and Charlton Athletic are only outside the play-offs on goal difference behind Leyton Orient.
The Trotters beat the O’s 2-1 at home last time out and have been in decent form over recent weeks.
They turned to ex-Plymouth Argyle and Stoke City man Steven Schumacher earlier this winter after making the decision to part ways with Ian Evatt.
Bolton Wanderers are back in action this weekend with an away trip to Wales to face 3rd position Wrexham at the Racecourse.
