Theatre Collingwood is thrilled to announce the return of its annual “Girls Nite Out” comedy event, set to take place on March 7 and 8, 2025, at the Royal Canadian Legion’s Normandy Room in Collingwood. This event, now in its sixth year, celebrates International Women’s Day with an evening of laughter, camaraderie, and empowerment.
Headlining the event is the renowned Canadian comedian Elvira Kurt, a trailblazer in the comedy scene with a career spanning stand-up performances, television hosting, and writing. Kurt has been featured on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and has received multiple Canadian Screen Award nominations. Joining her are talented comedians Jennine Profeta, Diana Frances, and Karen Parker, each bringing their unique flair to the stage. Collectively, these performers have earned accolades such as Canadian Screen and Comedy awards and have appeared on networks like NBC, CBC, and The Comedy Network. Their dynamic performances promise an evening filled with sharp improvisation, stand-up routines, and interactive audience games.
“If you’ve attended our past performances, you know that ‘Girls Nite Out’ will bring you to tears of joy,” says Erica Angus, executive director of Theatre Collingwood. “It’s a night filled with non-stop laughter, quick-witted comedy, and an electric atmosphere that brings our community together to celebrate women and live performance.”
The festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. with a pre-show dance party featuring DJ EF Sharpe, followed by the main event at 7:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to dress up and decorate their tables to match their favorite game show themes, adding an extra layer of fun to the evening. Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed tables, so creativity is highly encouraged.
In addition to the comedy performances, the event is supported by local female-run businesses. Katherine’s Chateau is offering a 15% discount on meals for Theatre Collingwood patrons who book a table before the show. Longtime supporters and realtors Anita Hearn and Michelle Kingsbury are sponsoring the popular Georgian Life Photo Booth, providing guests with themed snapshots to commemorate the evening. Party Mamas will enhance the ambiance with whimsical decor, ensuring a festive atmosphere throughout the event.
Tickets are priced at $48.00 plus tax and service charges for individual seats, with tables of eight available for $344 plus tax and service charges. Flex Pack tickets are also valid for this show. Given the popularity of “Girls Nite Out,” early ticket purchase is highly recommended. Tickets can be purchased online at Theatre Collingwood’s website or by contacting the box office at 705-445-2200.
