Lakers Make Bronny James Decision After Five G League Games
Los Angeles Lakers rookie Bronny James, the son of LeBron James, has appeared in seven NBA games since being drafted 55th overall in this year’s draft, making just one field goal in 18 minutes. Bronny has had a bit more success at the G League level.
In five games for the South Bay Lakers, James is averaging 14.4 points on 37.7% shooting. This includes a career-high 30 points against the Valley Suns on Thursday which was James’ first G League road game. Facing that same Suns team the next day, James made just six of his 20 field-goal attempts and scored 16 points.
After initially having James only play G League homes games, the Lakers altered that plan by having him play two contests in Phoenix. In a report on Tuesday from NBA insider Marc Stein, it was revealed that Los Angeles is also having James play in the Orlando G League Showcase.
“The Lakers’ Bronny James is now indeed scheduled to play for the @SouthBayLakers at the @nbagleague Showcase in Orlando this week, league sources say,” Stein wrote on X. “All G League teams are guaranteed two games in front of representatives from all 30 NBA teams.”
