The Baldwin Police Department is actively seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect involved in a shooting incident that occurred earlier this week. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to aid in their investigation.
According to officials, the shooting took place on Tuesday evening around 7:30 PM in the 200 block of Maple Avenue, near a residential area. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and saw a male suspect fleeing the scene on foot. The victim, a 32-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.
Detectives have described the suspect as a male, approximately 5’10” tall, wearing a dark hoodie and jeans at the time of the incident. Surveillance footage from nearby businesses captured a blurry image of the individual, but authorities hope that additional leads from the public can help narrow down their search.
“We are committed to ensuring the safety of our community and bringing the individual responsible to justice,” said Chief of Police Laura Higgins during a press briefing. “We urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact us immediately. Even the smallest detail could be crucial in solving this case.”
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and investigators are working diligently to piece together the events leading up to the incident. Officers have increased patrols in the area to reassure residents and deter further violence.
The Baldwin Police Department has set up a dedicated tip line for this case at (555) 123-4567. Tipsters can also provide information anonymously through the department’s website or by calling the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-222-TIPS.
Residents are reminded to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. The department expressed gratitude to the community for their ongoing cooperation and support in maintaining Baldwin’s safety.
