Legendary British rock band The Who has officially announced their final North American tour, poignantly titled “The Song Is Over,” marking a powerful farewell to their loyal U.S. and Canadian fans. Named after their 1971 classic from the album Who’s Next, this tour promises to be a heartfelt celebration of the band’s incredible journey and their enduring connection with audiences across North America.
Founding members Roger Daltrey, 81, and Pete Townshend, 79, shared emotional reflections as they unveiled the tour, recalling their first U.S. breakthrough in 1967. “Our American fans have been with us from the start,” Daltrey remarked. “It feels right to say goodbye with love, laughter, and music.” Townshend added, “This tour is a tribute to the memories we’ve made together. We want to go out doing what we love—playing live.”
The Canadian leg of “The Song Is Over” tour includes three exclusive performances:
- Toronto: September 2 and 4 at Budweiser Stage
- Vancouver: September 23 at Pepsi Live at Rogers Arena
These shows offer Canadian fans a final chance to experience The Who’s electrifying stage presence and iconic sound. Presale tickets will be available starting May 13, with general sales opening on May 16. Given the significance of this farewell tour, ticket demand is expected to be extremely high.
The tour kicks off on August 16 in Sunrise, Florida, and will conclude on September 28 in Las Vegas, with stops in major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Toronto. Even after the loss of drummer Keith Moon in 1978 and bassist John Entwistle in 2002, Daltrey and Townshend have continued to carry the band’s legacy forward.
The Who’s final tour marks the end of an era—a moment that rock music fans won’t want to miss. As one of the most influential bands in history, their goodbye promises to be both nostalgic and unforgettable.
