Cardi B Says She’ll Do a Spanish-Language Project After Sophomore Album
The Grammy winner, 31, told fans on June 24, that she knows what she’ll do for her third album following the release of her highly anticipated sophomore LP, which has yet to see a drop date materialize.
The rapper shared an Instagram Story on Sunday June 23, which included her singing along to her Peso Pluma collaboration “Put Em in the Fridge.” In the Story, she asked followers if they would want a Spanish language album from her. Almost 480,000 people voted and 79% of that vote was in support of the possibility — her influx of support included over 380,120 people voting in favor.
Then on Monday, she reposted the poll to her Stories and wrote, “OK AFTER MY ENGLISH ALBUM.”
More recently, in May, she shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) that although she previously shared she’d be releasing an album in 2024 that is no longer happening.
She wrote: “anyway NO album this year I don’t care I’m relaxing this year ..Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer.”

Prior to her May announcement, she explained in March via her Instagram Stories that she has “100” unreleased songs she’s been working on for her second album. “I promise y’all this year, I’m not letting my anxiety, I’m not letting what haters say, I’m not letting what fans say [stop me],” she said. “If I do a song, I’m gonna just f—ing drop it.”
“Well, I’ve got no choice because I’m dropping my album this year,” she added.
At the start of the month, she released a solo single titled “Like What (Freestyle),” and then followed it up on March 15 with her second single of the year, “Enough (Miami). The two releases followed her announcement in her September 2023 cover story for Vogue México y Latinoamérica, that she would not “release any more collaborations,” and only solo singles.
